Dr. Dan Shilling has researched, written about, and practiced alternative forms of tourism since the early 1990s. In 2001 he received the Arizona Office of Tourism "Person of the Year" award.

The former director of the Arizona Humanities Council, Dan has received numerous awards for his work in community development.
